If you’ve ever taken an Asian American Studies class, you’ve probably seen this photo by Nick Ut of a badly burned little girl running away from a napalm bombing on her village during the war in Southeast Asia in ‘72. Her name is Phan Thị Kim Phúc and you can find out what happened to her in the 40 years since this photo was taken here. Her optimism is an amazing thing to see as it fuels her work to help children affected by war.
